Book Club

Welcome to Jane Started It!

Jane Austen never dreamed as she wrote on her tiny desk that her work would ignite the imaginations of generations of writers. But she did. JSI is a place to talk about JA-based fiction, adaptations of her work to the screen and stage, and a place to ponder how things might have been different if the authoress were inclined to shake things up a bit.

The Rules

No, this hasn't anything to do with the dating book that was such a hit a few years ago, but it does have to do with proper behaviour.
  1. Please use your real name. We won't spam you, or stalk you. You have nothing to fear from us. That being said, we feel that use ofproper names reminds us all to act in a civilized manner.
  2. Be polite. This is an extention of NO 1. Mamma was right. She usually is.
  3. This is a benign dictatorship. I will be fair, but in the end I will be the one who has to make decisions about the site and the appropriateness of any comments or additions.
  4. This is not a drool site. Any comments particularly about actors and their attractiveness should be kept within family-friendly limits.
  5. Captain Wentworth is my favorite hero. My default setting is to defend him with all the vigor I can muster.
